Another Top Shop has come and gone and as usual it made for a great weekend.  It is always fun to see all of the people that come into town for this event.  You get to see friends old and new.  Some of the dudes are starting to look pretty haggard and the kids seem to keep getting younger.  All and all one of the best skate events out there.

The contest was down a couple of teams do to the poor economy, but still there was a strong showing.  Warp Skatepark repeated as winners this year and were followed by 3rd Lair.  The Cal Surf Crew finished a respectable 7th, which I believe was the highest place among non-park affiliated teams. 

Some of my personal highlights were Jan Jacobson nailing the weekend's third best run after not competing for years and Tim Bennett's entertaining 2nd run.  Tim landed most of his tricks in his 1st run and looked like he was ready to step it up in run #2.  Unfortunately, somebody spilled a drink and Tim's run was a "wash".  He landed in the puddle on his 1st trick and couldn't recover.  Instead, Tim proceeded to dance for the rest of of his run time.  I ain't saying he could score with the ladies the way he danced, but it sure was entertaining.  Next year maybe Jabberwocky from America's Best Dance Crew can judge and throw Tim a bone.
