Title: Peavey Plaza Rail Jam

Last Friday Cal Surf, Theodore Wirth Snowbaoard Area and The Alt hosted a rail jam in downtown Minneapolis. Besides having a killer event, the purpose of the night is to raise money for a non-profit segment of the Minneapolis Park system that is trying to provide the opportunity to snowboard for free to those who may not have access to equipment, transportation to Theodore Wirth or the income to snowboard.

This is the 1st year of the event and it caused quite a stir around Nicollet Mall. The Holidazzle parade takes place on Nicollet, so there was a built in audience for the event. Arctic Cat signed on as a sponsor and they had several of their snow mobiles on hand. They turned one over and shot food off of the the track. Vegtables, bags of flour and other goodies were projected into the night sky.

Orchestra Hall made for a great back drop to the event, providing plenty of photo opportunities. No photoshop needed to capture the riders. The riding was solid throughout the night with about 30 riders participating. The photos tell the story, but before we go there we would like to especially thank Scott Finne of Theodore Wirth park , Ben and Glen from Periscope, Daniel Heavens for his MC skills and Jesse from The Alt for bringing down the sound equipment. Of course, thanks go out to all of the riders and worker bees who made the night happen.
