Midwest Marauders Video starring Jeff Bauman, Adam Dalen, Jan Jacobson, C.J. Tambornino, and Davis Torgerson.  Out May 2007!  View Trailers Here and Here

6/5/2007

I'm just gonna do an update now and then since I'm supposedly retired.  This was fun to make!  Thanks Again everyone!

5/20/2007

Sorry it's been a long time since my last post, but I've been relaxing and enjoying my new status as a human being with out a video camera.  Also, check out Sam Mcquire's mini web article on Minneapolis, it's pretty rad.

5/5/2007

Thank you to everyone who came to the premiere last night.  As Borat would say, it was a "Great Success".  Twin Cities skaters came out in numbers to support the efforts of everyone in the video.  Here are some pics and also, don't forget about the 5pm premiere today at the shop.

4/30/2007

F.Y.I. the Varsity premiere on Friday is 18+, with an all ages premiere in the shop on Saturday.  There will be a projector brought in and the upstairs cleared to make room.

4/23/2007

Sorry that I've been slacking on the updates, but I was just soooo busy sighing a big breath of relief after having completed the video that I gave myself a little rest time.  Enjoy this stolen link of Davis and Tom footage from Heartland Hessians.  More updates soon.

4/15/2007

I'm proud and relieved to announce that I burned the master copy of Midwest Marauders today.  I'll drop it off tomorrow for duplication so copies will be on hand for the premiere on May 4th.  A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made this video possible.

Sold my fisheye and my light.  Who wants the camera?  Also, I've been getting a lot of last minute after deadline footage lately.  Thanks Andrew Norris and Jake Smith for the hard work and good skating.  And an almost thanks goes out to Adam Dalen(who still doesn't have it all in yet).  Video's looking sick.

4/1/2007

I'm selling my VX1000.  If interested send an email to midwestmarauder@yahoo.com.  It comes with a charger, 3 batteries, and an on camera 50 watt light with battery pack.  All Items can sell seperately.  Also, Phil made this poster.

3/29/2007

Video's on track and should be completed shortly.  I made a Dantage for the website with special guest appearance by Jan

3/21/2007

Today is the official footage deadline.  Pete Spooner just gave me a bunch of clips of Jan today.  Jeremy Reeves also sent in a ton of stuff over the weekend.  If anyone else has anything, please get it to me asap.  Thanks.

3/17/2007

Happy St. Patty's Day!  I'm German, but I have a reddish beard and my birthday is this month, so I've always had a warm affection for this green beer holiday.  Plus, spring is on its way, so celibrate!

3/13/2007

You don't have to be afraid to go outside anymore.  At least for today anyway.  Go skate while it's still unseasonably nice out there.

3/12/2007

So, it's super nice out, but what's dry enough to skate?  Jan and David skated here over the weekend.  Also, Saturn 10 got served by Davis and Jan who both got new hammers.  It's always good to have more nice clips to add to the video which, I just found out, will premiere on May 4th at the Varsity with Doomtree.  More info when I get it.

3/10/2007

Mega Sesh at the Mega Mall 10 sometime this weekend.  Call me for details.  Also, don't forget to Spring forward tonight, or tomorrow morning, for daylight savings time.  Spring's coming early thanks to SUV's, Coal plants, and lax big business oriented government emission standards.

3/8/2007

Got the new Midwest Marauders T-shirts in today.  Get them while they're still in stock and support Calsurf and everyone in the video.

3/3/2007

I'm so sick of  winter.  It makes me lose my mind sometimes.  I think my seasonal depression is starting to kick in.  I just can't handle the boredom.

2/27/2007

Here's a funny clip of Neal Shipe posing for the camera.  Also, I saw this on yahoo and thought this guy was pretty amazing.  His talent and his hair are both things that I am extremely and seriously jealous of.

2/25/2007

Well the snow came like they said it was going to.  So, here's another warm weather clip of Olu to get people thinking about nicer days to come.

2/24/2007

Early Spring is going to take a back seat for a moment to this snow storm that's reportedly on its way to dumping a foot on our fair city.  So much for nice skating weather.  Here's a clip of Olu from awhile ago when the weather was on the other end of the spectrum.  The temperature was hovering around 100 degrees and it was humid as hell.  You gotta love Minnesota.  It amazes me we get any skating in around here at all.

2/21/2007

Yesterday Jan got another hammer.  Thanks Jan, for making my day and in only 11 tries, too.  I know I said I wasn't going to put the new trailer from the Myskate premiere on the site, but I've been getting a lot of requests (2) from people who said they really needed (could care less) to see it.

2/19/2007

Happy President's Day!  It's a nice one too, weather-wise.  Get out and get your hammer on like Jan did yesterday at this 11 stair.  I'm not going to say what went down, but I will say that Jan's part is just that much sweeter now.

2/18/2007

Extremely Limited Edition Midwest Marauders Shirt now available.  Be the first on your block to support Calsurf's first video ever.  Also, field corrospondent Pat Gallaher reports on the MySkate Video Premiere last night.

"The Myskate premiere was on Saturday night.  For all of you who couldn’t make it I’m sorry because it was a good time. The theater it was at was real nice and had tons of seats and a cool ceiling that looked like a sky with moving clouds on it. I thought the place didn’t have roof for second. Anyways they played a special new Midwest Marauders trailer that you could only see if you were there and then they started Myskate. Everyone seemed pretty hyped.  Tabari was screaming with hype throughout the whole thing which was pretty cool of him. I was super stoked on Pat Dystra’s part.  He did everything real smooth and his song added to the part a lot. Neal Shipe had a real stand out part too due to his originality: pole jamming into bench tricks and I’ve never seen his ender done down a set before let alone with shoes on.  Tom Rohrer’s part was good too. He had a real smooth ollie down a double set that just looked real cool and I really liked his bigspin down the big four. After the vid they had a product toss and some sort of raffle and then everyone headed on to 1066 for an afterparty." - Pat Gallaher

Buy a copy of the video and support independent skate videos or else!

2/17/2007

I made a new trailer for the Midwest Marauders video today.  However, I won't be putting it on the site because there's too much secret footy in it.  The only way to see it is if you go to the My Skate Premiere tonight.  There will be a very small amount of limited edition Midwest Marauders T-shirts on hand as well.  See you there.

2/12/2007

I'm looking forward to the Myskate Premiere at the Suburban World this Saturday.  Video starts at 8pm and it is said to contain some real sick skateboarding.  Be there!  Also, in case you were wondering how Bauman is doing, he sent us this disgusting picture of the bone spurs they removed from his ankles.  He said he'll send more if anyone is interested!

2/8/2007

I talked to Bauman today and he's going to Milwaukee to get ankle surgery, so you probably won't see him around for a little while.  Good luck Jeff, I hope the recovery is smooth and fast.  The photo below is one of my favorites and was taken about one second before Jeff opened up his chin.  I like this photo because it is a perfect depiction of what not to do when skating handrails.  See kids, tripping over your feet is a BAD idea.  Unless you like going to Urgent Care at 2 AM?

2/6/2007

Davis Torgerson brings us the clip of the day with a slight variation on a past clip.  Way to ride dude!

2/5/2007

Jan gave me the new Air Album last night and it's pretty good.  Here's a cut from it here, and this website says it will be available March 6, so I'm not sure how Jan got it, but I'm sure it was on the up and up.  Thanks, Jan.

2/2/2007

I went to City Skateboard's Crime in the City premiere on Wednesday at The Independent to see Jeremy Reeves' part and it was very very good.  He had the last part and that's saying a lot when you consider that Dave Bachinsky, Alex Klein, Russ Milligan, and Tony Montgomery also had full parts.  If you havn't seen it, go get it.  Also, expect to see even more impressive Reeves footy in April, because he saved his real hammers for the Midwest Marauders Video.

1/31/2007

One day in L.A. I met up with Jake Smith, Adam Dalen and Dayne Brummet to see how their quest for more footage for the Midwest Marauders Video was going.  Not too good for Jake who had a gnarly ankle roll.  But he was happy because he got a few things before it happened and is confident that he'll be back skating again in a day or two.  Dalen was on a mission to get as much footage and as much coffee as possible, and Dayne was a little bummed because some idiot crashed into his favorite sushi place down the street from his house.  All and all it seems their doing well, surfing a bunch, taking trips to San Diego and Arizona, and getting some good footage.

 1/30/2007

L.A. was fun, and everytime I go there I instantly remember why I could never live there.  Traffic.  Man the 405 sucks!   More photos coming soon.  Until then enjoy this clip of Timmy Gallaher.  He's Pat's brother and he's coming up.  Oh and Jamiel, if you read this, get your brother out filming this summer.  We could do a real brotage!

1/25/2007

I've been cruising around Southern California doing family stuff and staying in fancy hotels.  I'll have some skate related updates when I get back.

Peace.

1/20/2007

Looks like I'll be taking more than Friday off.  I'll be in L.A. and San Diego for the next week.

1/19/2007

Happy Friday!  For me anyway.  I took the day off work to stay home and play with my son.  Ahh the luxury of paid vacation time!  If you were quick enough to see that Amish Dreams video Benji made then you know what I'm talking about when I say, "Damn Benji, that looks really good.  I'd be surprized if you don't win that compition".  If you didn't see it on his sight I'm sure he'll put it up again when the time is right.  Until then please accept this picture as a gift from Neal Shipe who would like to remind everyone to have fun while skating.

1/18/2007

A ton of Minneapolis locals including Mike Munzenrider, Jeff Bauman, C.J. Tambornino, Davis Torgerson, Eddie Kochendorfer, and at least a few more, went down south to Tampa to try their hand at skate competition.  Good luck dudes!  Don't get too home sick.

1/15/2007

Despite breaking his collar bone a few months ago, Davis Torgerson got his hesh on the other night along with Dan, Tim, Neal, Sam, and Tom.  Phil was not there.

1/14/2007

Well I made it over to the Calsurf site Okay.  Thanks Scott.  Expect epic posts at least weekly.  Here's another winter clip.  Damn it's cold!  I'm staying inside until it warms up a little.  Found this old photo of Elijah, while cleaning up a mess my son was making.
